Atlanta Tipoff Club Announces End of Season Awards for Area Players and Coaches
ATLANTA (March 19, 2025) – The Atlanta Tipoff Club (ATOC) today announced its annual high school basketball honorees, and for the first time, one school claims both top player awards. Holy Innocents’ seniors Hailee Swain (Stanford commit) and Caleb Wilson (North Carolina commit) claim the Miss and Mr. Georgia Basketball titles, respectively. Swain was also recently named a 3rd Team All-America selection for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Player of the Year award, while Caleb Wilson was named to the 2nd Team All-America team on the boy’s high school side.
Nichole Dixon (girls) and Mario Mays (boys) claimed the Pinholster Award, given to the top coaches for high schools within classes 1A-3A, after winning the Class 1A-3A Private state championship. Dixon, who also notched her 200th win with the program earlier this season, claims this award for the third time (2019, 2020). It’s also the first time in ATOC history that these four awards won by the same program in the same season.
Additionally, the Atlanta Metro High School Girls Player of the Year is Kate Harpring, a junior at Marist School. Harpring was also recently named a 2nd Team All-America selection for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Player of the Year award. Caleb Holt, a junior at Grayson High School, earned the Atlanta Metro High School Boys Player of the Year and was an Honorable Mention on the Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School Player of the Year All-America Teams.
The other annual coaching award is the Cremins, which goes to top schools in classes 4A-6A. Jawan Baily (girls) of Newton High school, took the honors after leading his team to a 6A state championship. Larry Thompson (boys) of Wheeler High School wins for the second time in three years (2023). Thompson’s Wildcats won its 10th state championship.
Additionally, the ATOC revealed the Atlanta All-Metro High School Girls and Boys Teams with 30 outstanding Girls and Boys recognized. The player honors were compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Selection Committees, chaired by Hebron Christian Head Coach Jan Azar (Girls) and Norcross High School Head Coach Jesse McMillan (Boys).
