Naismith Awards Theme Headlines Top Two Honorees

ATLANTA (March 26, 2026) – The Atlanta Tipoff Club (ATOC) today announced Marist
School’s Kate Harpring and Wheeler High School’s Colben Landrew as the 2026
recipients of the Miss and Mr. Georgia Basketball awards, respectively.
Harpring, who has committed to North Carolina, was also named the 2026 Jersey
Mike’s Naismith Girls’ High School Player of the Year and a Jersey Mike’s Naismith
Girls’ High School First Team All-America selection. The ATOC recognized her last
year as the 2025 Atlanta Metro Girls’ High School Player of the Year. A UConn signee,
Landrew also claimed a 2026 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Boys’ High School All-America list
status with a spot on the second team.

Hebron Christian Academy’s Jan Azar (girls) and Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School’s
Mario Mays (boys) claimed the Pinholster Award, given to the top coaches for high
schools within classes 1A-3A.

Azar, an eight-time winner of this award, is the winningest basketball coach in the
history of the Georgia High School Association with 17 state titles. She led the Lions to
the 3A state championship this year, her fifth state title in her seven years at the school,
before agreeing to take the Girls Basketball head coach position at Gainesville High
School.

Mays has now won consecutive Pinholster Awards, finishing this season with a 26-4
mark and a 2A regional championship this season.
The Atlanta Metro High School Girls Player of the Year is Gabby Minus, a senior from
Hebron Christian Academy, who has committed to Tennessee. Harris Reynolds, a
senior at St. Pius X Catholic School and a Clemson signee, earned the Atlanta Metro
High School Boys’ Player of the Year award.

The Cremins Award, given annually to the top coach in classes 4A-6A, was awarded to
North Paulding High School Girls Coach Wes Willis and Boys Coach at St. Pius X
Catholic School, Will Cloyd. Willis led the Wolfpack to a state championship in the 6A
region, the first state championship in the program’s history. Cloyd, who led his school
to a 4A state championship, ended the season with a 33-0 mark.

The ATOC revealed the Atlanta Jackie Bradford All-Metro High School Girls’ and Boys’
Teams with 30 outstanding players recognized for their on-court performance this
season. The player honors were compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Selection
Committees, chaired by Azar and Norcross High School Head Boys Coach Jesse
McMillan.
